Resend pricing explained
every plan, every tier
A full breakdown of Resend's Free, Pro, Scale, and Enterprise pricing, plus real per-1k email costs, hidden add-ons, and how it compares to alternatives in 2026.

The short version
Resend uses four transactional tiers (Free, Pro, Scale, Enterprise) billed by monthly email volume, with a separate pricing system for marketing email billed by contacts. Free starts at 3,000 emails per month with a 100 per day limit. Pro runs from $20 to $35 per month. Scale runs from $90 (100k) to $1,150 (2.5M). Enterprise is custom.
- The cheapest paid tier is $20/mo (Pro, 50,000 emails)
- At 100k emails, you pick between $35 (Pro) and $90 (Scale). Scale unlocks dedicated IPs, Slack support, and 1,000 domains.
- Marketing email is a separate product billed per contact, not per email.
- Resend doubled several Scale tier prices in October 2024. Budget for continued increases.
- No fully EU-hosted plan. Sending can originate in Ireland, but account data and logs remain in the US.
Resend plans side by side
Volume, domain, retention, and support breakdown for each tier.
Resend Free: $0/mo for 3,000 emails
The Free plan covers small projects and evaluation. It is not a trial, it is a permanent free tier with the following limits:
- 3,000 emails per month maximum
- 100 emails per day cap (the hard constraint for most users)
- 1 verified sending domain
- 30 days of log and event retention
- Ticket support with no SLA
- Shared IPs only
The 100 emails per day cap is what forces most teams to upgrade before hitting 3,000 monthly. If you send password resets, magic links, or onboarding emails, a single busy day can burn through the daily quota and silently queue or drop deliveries depending on your integration.
Resend Pro: $20/mo starting point
Pro is the first paid tier and the one most small teams land on. It is priced on a slider from 50,000 to 100,000 emails per month.
$20/mo
50,000 emails per month
$0.40 per 1,000 emails
$35/mo
100,000 emails per month
$0.35 per 1,000 emails
Pro removes the daily cap, lifts domain count to 10, and keeps the same 30-day retention and ticket support as Free. There is no dedicated IP option on Pro, which matters if you care about sender reputation control.
Resend Scale: $90/mo to $1,150/mo
Scale is the tier for growing SaaS with multiple domains, reputation requirements, or high volumes. It reuses the slider pattern with six published steps:
Scale adds Slack-based support, 1,000 domains, and the option to attach a dedicated IP. The per-email cost decreases as volume grows, from $0.90 per 1,000 at 100k down to $0.46 per 1,000 at 2.5M.
Resend Enterprise: custom pricing
Enterprise is sales-led. It covers custom volumes, bespoke SLAs, dedicated IP pools, and typically starts being worth it somewhere past 2.5M emails per month or when procurement requires signed MSAs. Resend does not publish entry prices. Expect custom annual contracts with commits.
Resend pricing at every volume
The full grid with cost per 1,000 emails, the single most useful number when comparing providers.
What the list price does not include
The plan price is not the whole bill. Three line items often surprise teams at the first invoice.
Dedicated IP add-on
Only available on Scale and Enterprise. Priced separately from the base plan. Required if you want to warm up and control your own sender reputation instead of sharing with other Resend customers.
Marketing emails
Marketing Email is a separate product with its own pricing billed per contact count, not per email sent. If you send both transactional and marketing, you pay two subscriptions.
Overages past plan caps
Past the plan's monthly email cap, you either upgrade the slider or pay pay-as-you-go charges, which add up quickly for spiky workloads.
Support beyond tickets
Shared Slack channels are Scale only. Priority response, named contacts, and SLAs are Enterprise only. Pro and Free are ticket-only with no SLA.
Marketing email is priced separately
The pricing page has two tabs: Transactional Email and Marketing Email. They are separate products with separate billing and separate quotas.
- Transactional is billed by monthly email volume. Free to Enterprise as described above.
- Marketing is billed by contact count. Free includes 1,000 contacts. Pro Marketing ranges from $40 (5,000 contacts) to $650 (150,000 contacts). Enterprise is custom.
If you run password resets plus a newsletter from the same product, you pay for both. Factor this into your comparison when benchmarking against all-in-one providers.
Silent product and pricing changes
Two moments matter when forecasting the total cost and behavior of Resend over a 12 to 24 month horizon. Neither was proactively communicated to existing customers.
October 2024: Scale pricing doubled
Resend restructured its Scale tier and doubled several published prices. The most cited example: the 200,000 emails per month tier moved from $80 to $160 per month, a 2x jump overnight. Some existing customers were grandfathered onto legacy pricing. New signups pay current rates.
March 2026: data retention quietly bumped to 30 days
Resend raised data retention on every non-Enterprise plan to 30 days without a public announcement. Before that change, retention was tiered:
The upgrade itself is customer-friendly. The pattern is what stands out: shipping material product changes without communication affects vendor-trust evaluations for teams that build long-lived integrations on top of a provider.
How Resend pricing compares to Nuntly
Side-by-side view at every published Resend tier, in each provider's native currency. Prices verified on 2026-04-21.
Nuntly is cheaper than Resend at every paid tier above 50k emails, and the gap widens with volume. At 100k, Nuntly Starter is €28 vs Resend Pro at $35 or Scale at $90. At 500k, Nuntly is €265 vs $350. At 1M, Nuntly is €492 vs $650. Nuntly also includes EU data hosting on every plan at no additional cost, which Resend does not offer on any plan.
Nuntly: the closest Resend alternative
If you like Resend's developer experience but want lower prices at 100k+ volumes, EU data hosting by default, and predictable pricing from a bootstrap company, Nuntly is designed as a drop-in alternative. The SDK surface mirrors Resend (nuntly.emails.send matches resend.emails.send), domain verification follows the same SPF/DKIM/DMARC pattern (though the exact records you publish are Nuntly-specific), and migration typically takes under 30 minutes.
